In an interview, Johnson urged the protest organizers to suspend the planned 10-day demonstration and give peace a chance.

“I urge Nigeria’s youth to ignore the call for a nationwide strike. Our country is at a critical point, and we must not let those who want to use our frustrations for their own benefit lead us,” Johnson said.

Johnson pointed out that President Tinubu took over a country in crisis, dealing with a broken economy, a divided society, and widespread struggles.

He believes that Tinubu’s efforts so far have been promising and offer hope for a better future.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inherited a country in turmoil – a broken economy, a divided nation, and people struggling to survive. To bring back our nation’s lost glory, we must build unity and trust. I believe the President’s efforts so far give us hope for a better future,” he said.

Johnson also talked about the negative effects of the EndSARS protests, noting the damage and divisions they caused. He stressed the need for peace, as violence only makes problems worse.

“Our country is more divided than ever, with banditry, kidnapping, and religious tensions on the rise. Regional and tribal divisions threaten our unity, and we must address these issues. Let’s reject political exploitation and work towards a united, prosperous nation. We have suffered enough; let’s give peace a chance,” Johnson urged.
