Controversial social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has expressed his frustration over the recent apology issued by Stephen Abuwatseya, the Bolt driver, to House of Representatives member Alex Ikwechegh.
According to DAILY POST, Abuwatseya apologized to Ikwechegh after an altercation between them during a package delivery. The incident, which took place on October 28, saw Ikwechegh assault the driver, and it was captured in a viral video at the lawmaker’s residence in Maitama, Abuja.
In a new video, VeryDarkMan recounted his efforts, alongside lawyer Deji Adeyanju, to hold Ikwechegh accountable for the assault. VDM revealed that Ikwechegh and his associates had contacted them to discuss compensation for Abuwatseya following the public attention the incident received.
VeryDarkMan proposed a compensation of N20 million and a car for the driver, but Ikwechegh suggested lowering it to N5 million and a car. The socialite also accused Abuwatseya of secretly forming a relationship with the lawmaker, behind the backs of those who had supported him.
Expressing disappointment over the apology, VeryDarkMan claimed it appeared coerced and criticized the driver for turning against those who had backed him during the controversy. Additionally, Deji Adeyanju and Partners, the legal firm representing Abuwatseya, withdrew their services after the apology.
