A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ibrahim Modibbo, has expressed regret over supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, saying he did not anticipate the outcome of the current administration.
Modibbo made the remarks during an appearance on AIT, where he revealed that he was formerly a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and actively campaigned for Tinubu across the country through radio and television programmes.
According to him, the performance of the administration has fallen short of his expectations, prompting him to seek God’s forgiveness for his role in supporting Tinubu’s election.
“I was also a member of the APC. I made campaigns all over the country on radio and television for Tinubu, but I beg God to forgive me because I did not know that this is how it is going to turn,” Modibbo said.
The ADC chieftain also appealed to Nigerians to forgive him for backing Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, describing his comments as a reflection of his disappointment with the current administration.
Modibbo noted that his dissatisfaction with the government’s performance influenced his decision to leave the APC and join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
