The Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC announced an increase in the price of fuel on Wednesday from N898 to N998 in Lagos State while its N1,030 in Abuja, the capital territory and other regions. Reacting, a supporter of President Tinubu with the handle @Osi_suave wrote on Wednesday “This bullshit started with that ill-advised speech.

Talmabout subsidy is gone. 1 year in, and you can’t seem to have a holding policy on the downstream sector. That’s failure and incompetence in my books. Fuel increase means transport costs will go up and cost of food will follow. How is this govt too stupid to understand this basic thing. I’m tired abeg.

Dr Olufumilayo with the handle @ourfavonlinedoc wrote “While we were all busy with the Ofe Nsala vs Ewedu Gbegiri Champions League match the other day, the authorities seized the opportunity to quickly increase petrol price to 1,030 naira per litre in Abuja and 998naira per litre in Lagos.

Businessman Morris Monye wrote “NNPC selling N998 per liter. How will Nigerians survive this. Oh wait, we will survive. We are adjuster-general of the nation.”

The handle @clinton_brown wrote “Anyone that voted or still supports this government should be treated as an enemy.”

@manlikebright wrote “I’m at Obalende and the only thing I can hear from bus drivers is that NNPC has increased fuel price and they’re currently pegging fare to Lekki at N800 right now and once it’s tomorrow they’re moving it to N1,000. I’m not crying but but many people came down from this bus ”

@ceorhemz wrote “If NNPC likes they should increase the fuel pump price to N2000. Until we are ready as citizens to ditch tribalism and stupid discussions to take back our country from these wicked politicians they will keep churning out harsh policies.”

@__iamtiptop wrote “I’ve never felt so much anger as I felt this morning driving to NNPC to hear petrol is 1,025. There’s really no sense of “I’m doing enough” in this country because the Emi Lokan vampires are really sucking everything. Petrol at that price means insane inflation for everything.”

Meanwhile, this is the second price increase within a month after the cancellation of an exclusive purchase agreement with Dangote Refinery by NNPC. In September, prices surged from N615 to N897 per litre in Abuja.

On May 29, 2023, President Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidies during his inaugural speech. Since this announcement, fuel prices have skyrocketed from N197 to N1,030 as of today. Exposed Celebrities Video
