The Super Eagles are set to face Libya on Tuesday night, following their 1-0 win in the first leg of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers last Friday. Upon landing, the team found themselves stranded at the airport for over 13 hours.

This situation arose when Libyan authorities redirected their chartered ValueJet flight to a smaller airport away from Benghazi, just as the pilot was about to land on Sunday night.

Additionally, the Libyan Football Federation did not provide any reception team or transportation for the players, who had to make a two-hour journey to their hotel in Benghazi.

In a recent post on X, Boniface shared his concerns, stating, “This is getting scary now. You guys can have the point. We just want to return to our country.”
