The Managing Director/CEO of Unity Bank Plc, Mrs. Tomi Somefun said the bank’s efforts to prioritise its customers translate to an exceptional partnership for better service. The CEO remarked in a message commemorating the 2024 customer service week.

Somefun expressed her gratitude to the bank’s clients for their ongoing trust and loyalty, acknowledging that it has been a driving force behind the bank’s growth and success. The comments come in the wake of a planned merger between the lender and Providus Bank.

The Central Bank of Nigeria in August revealed that it has approved the merger in line with the provisions of Section 42 (2) of the CBN Act, 2007.

“The Central Bank of Nigeria has approved a pivotal financial accommodation to support the proposed merger between Unity Bank Plc and Providus Bank Limited. This strategic move is designed to bolster the stability of Nigeria’s financial system and avert potential systemic risks.

“The merger is contingent upon the financial support from the CBN. The fund will be instrumental in addressing Unity Bank’s total obligations to the Central Bank and other
stakeholders. It is unequivocal to state that the CBN’s action is under the provisions of Section 42 (2) of the CBN Act, 2007.

“This arrangement is crucial for the post-merger organisation’s financial health and operational stability.”

Unity Bank said it prioritises its customers in its business, adding that its customers are the core of its banking business.

The CEO highlighted the bank’s ongoing commitment to innovation and modernising existing systems, announcing that new tools and strategies will be introduced in the coming months to enhance the customer experience further.

“Whether it’s through improved digital platforms or personalized services, we are committed to enhancing the way you bank with us,” she added. Exposed Celebrities Video
