Nigerian crossdresser, Idris “Bobrisky” Okuneye was reportedly rushed to hospital after complaining of pains in his ‘breasts’. News of Bobrisky’s hospitalization broke on Wednesday following his arrest by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme Border earlier this week.....Read Full Article>>

The NIS said the crossdresser was apprehended whilst attempting to flee the country amidst current investigations into certain claims against his person. He was subsequently transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos where he has remained in detention. A police source informed Vanguard that the crossdresser was taken to the hospital at about 2 p.m., yesterday after complaining about ‘breasts’ pain.

Another source told Vanguard that the hospital trip was a decoy, as Bobrisky was being transferred to the Special Fraud Unit, SFU following a visit from the Commissioner of Police in charge of the SFU.

“They were concerned about avoiding public attention, so they sent for a police ambulance with the number plate LLD339LP,” the source added.
Another witness informed Vanguard that Bobrisky complained about discomfort before the transfer decision, and as such they decided to take him to the hospital first.

“This occurred after the CP of SFU visited the command to supervise the transfer.” the source said

The source added that the crossdresser was isolated from other prisoners in a separate cell with two armed officers.
Vanguard also noted that Bobrisky was sighted in a police ambulance, and identified himself as “Idris” when questioned.

The crossdresser was placed on a stretcher inside the ambulance, alongside a female nurse and a fully armed police officer.
Bobrisky’s recent travails began after social media critic, VeryDarkMan accused the crossdresser of bribing operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to strike out a money laundering charge against him.

The social media activist released a voice recording purported to be a conversation between the crossdresser and an associate.
Bobrisky has since described VDM’s leaked audio as “fake”, noting that she never bribed any EFCC operatives.
Bobrisky also insisted that he served his full term in Kirikiri prison.

The crossdresser also claimed that the audio was generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
In April, Bobrisky was arrested after he was spotted spraying Naira notes at the premiere of Ajao’s 2024 film, Ajakaju.

The crossdresser was subsequently sentenced to six months in jail without any option of fine for naira abuse by a Federal High Court.
Many have described the crossdresser’s sentencing as harsh, noting that ‘spraying’ is a common practice among celebrities and Nigerians alike.

Justice A.O. Awogboro, who gave the sentence, said it would serve as a deterrent to others fond of abusing and mutilating the naira.
Following Bobrisky’s sentencing, he was transferred to the Ikoyi Prison and subsequently Kirikiri.

Before his sentencing, the crossdresser confirmed his gender as a ‘man’ to the sitting judge, Justice Abimbola Awogboro.
Thereafter, many expressed fears that the crossdresser might be abused or molested by his fellow inmates.

However, these concerns were quashed by a spokesperson of the prison facility who assured the crossdresser of ample protection.
“Since he admitted to being a male in court, then we have to abide by what was submitted in court,” the correctional service spokesperson said.

Crossdressing in Nigeria was popularized by Bobrisky, and it has since developed into a growing niche in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Some of the more popular crossdressers that have popularized the cross-dressing trend include James Brown, Bryan Nwakoro, Jay Boogie, Jay Buggati, Vtwins and many more.

However, Bobrisky and James Brown are unarguably the biggest and most popular crossdressers in the country. The pair share similar stories, as they have in the past stated that poverty drove them into crossdressing.

Bobrisky previously disclosed that he only started experiencing financial breakthroughs in his life after he chose the path of becoming a cross-dresser.
