All Osun State Schools Closed

The Osun State government has ordered the closure of all schools and academic activities in the state ahead of the planned protest against hunger.

The announcement was contained in a memo from the state’s Ministry of Education, signed by permanent secretary, MK Jimoh, on Monday.

The memo directed parents, guardians and school owners to stop all academic activities for children in the state until third term.

Jimoh said the decision was important to ensure safety of the students, teachers and public infrastructures in the state from being target of hoodlums.

“This is to inform the general public, particularly parents, guardians, and heads of both public and private schools in the state that due to the planned nationwide protest, all schools are directed to proceed on the third-term vacation from Wednesday, 31st July 2024,” the memo read.
