Akpabio also said, instead of people focusing on the line of what happened and what he said to Natasha Akpoti to not shout when one is talking but speak when she’s recognized, people online went, resolved to private abuses. In his words, Akpabio said:
“We are still learning even though some of us have been in the Senate for years, we continue to learn. In the course of talking to one of my sisters that she should speak whenever she’s recognized, I made reference to the fact that we are not in a nightclub where people have to shout above the noise of the music.
“Social media went agog. I am not on social media, but my wife called me. People got angry that they published her number and they should occupy her.
She received over 2000 to 3000 phone calls a day. My phone crashed. I was telling DSP, he should be the one they should be talking to as in his tradition he can only marry a wife, but they listed so many wives. I have only one, and I’m satisfied with that one”.
