He highlighted that the agency has achieved a 70 percent success rate in combating illegal tax practices in the state.

Enehe stated, “The Kogi State Internal Revenue Service has initiated a comprehensive public awareness campaign, including the installation of billboards across the state and its three senatorial districts, to deter taxpayers from interacting with unauthorized tax collectors.”

While acknowledging that illegal tax collection has not been completely eradicated, he noted that the recent crackdown has significantly diminished such activities. “The fight against these unauthorized collectors continues,” he affirmed.

He also reported that as of September, KGIRS has collected over N19 billion towards its annual target of over N30 billion for 2024. Enehe credited this success to the state’s economic conditions and expressed optimism that KGIRS is on course to meet its year-end goal.

He conveyed confidence in the dedication of the agency’s management and staff to achieve its objectives by the end of 2024.
