In the video, which appeared to have been recorded on the same day, Dokubo expressed his frustration, stating that he viewed the action as a deliberate provocation orchestrated by Wike, with the support of President Bola Tinubu’ s administration. He boasted of his ability to down the

helicopters if necessary, and warned against continued harassment.
” Wike’ s soldiers, Wike’ s police have been flying over my house and compound for the past 30 minutes with two helicopter gunships. I have the capacity to contain them. The 60- year- old former militant leader asserted that he would not be intimidated by government authorities and urged the administration to warn Wike to cease the actions. He emphasized his readiness to defend himself and reiterated that he had no fear of death, a stance he has maintained throughout his life.

” I have the capacity to contain them, and the government knows I have the capacity, just as I have contained others before. Let them tell Wike to back off. I am 60 years old, and I have never been afraid of death. I have always embraced death, so I am not afraid, ” Dokubo added.

Further escalating his accusations, Dokubo alleged that President Bola Tinubu is backing Wike in a bid to cause political unrest in Rivers State. He claimed that Wike is using his influence to target his opponents and urged that Wike be stripped of his powers.

He went on to warn that should any helicopters be shot down, the blame should not fall on him, as he did not instigate the confrontation. ” If their helicopters are shot down, nobody should blame me. I didn’ t go looking for trouble, but I will shoot down the helicopter, I swear by Allah. Whoever is commanding them should be warned. Enough is enough, ” he stated.

Dokubo also made it clear that he intends to participate in the upcoming local government elections, despite potential interference from Wike’ s supporters. He affirmed that the elections would take place, the results would be announced, and the winners would be duly sworn in without issue.
” I will vote, and you will see me vote. Results will be announced, and chairmen will be sworn in, and we will see, ” he concluded.
These statements from Dokubo reflect the escalating tensions between him and the Tinubu- led administration, with Wike at the center of the dispute. The situation has raised concerns about political stability in Rivers State as Dokubo remains defiant in his stance against what he perceives as unjust actions from the government.
