Antonio Conte was the man chosen to lead Napoli into a new era after the Italian club, who won the Serie A title in 2023 before struggling hugely in 2024.

For the former Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, Conte will have a big job on his hands to rebuild, particularly with the transfer rumours continuing to swirl over Victor Osimhen’s and Khvicha Kvarastkhelia future in Naples.

The future of Nigerian forward Osimhen is unclear with HITC reporting that Chelsea do retain an interest in the Napoli hitman but will not pay his release clause this summer.

Sources have told HITC that lines of communication between Osimhen and Chelsea’s camp remain open this summer ahead of a potential move.

The Nigerian is said to be anxious about making a move this summer and Chelsea is an avenue that Osimhen would be open to exploring.

Former Napoli player Christian Bucci has urged Osimhen to turn down interest from Chelsea, and any other team from Europe, to remain in Italy this summer.

“I’m not convinced that at those figures he can move to Europe, PSG and the Premier League I don’t think they will make certain offers,” Bucci told Calcio Napoli.

“Saudi Arabia would be the only solution, but the player’s will will have to be understood.

“I hope that either he stays at Napoli, where he could grow with Conte, or that some European club can make an important offer. I would tell him to stay at Napoli.
‘Complete’ Osimhen coud be a major signing for Chelsea

Despite the Blues already signing talented teenager Marc Guiu, the West London club are understood to want another forward to add to their ranks.

Osimhen, who netted 15 times in Italy’s top division last season, would represent a genuine world-class striker option for the Blues, should they decide to pursue a deal.

Former Chelsea legend once Gianfranco Zola hailed Osimhen as a ‘very complete player’ and he would certainly add a lot to the Blues’ forward line.

As for Napoli, sources have told HITC that Romelu Lukaku, who is ironically contracted to Chelsea, is the forward the Italian side want and the Belgian is understood to be keen on a move to Naples but AC Milan are also waiting in the wings.
