Ude, who took to social media less than 24 hours ago, alleged that General Lagbaja had died of cancer. Despite the Army’ s efforts to debunk the story, Ude stood by his statement, challenging the military to release a live video of Lagbaja to prove he is still alive.

Ude’ s allegations did not stop there. In a new twist, he claimed that the recently appointed acting Chief of Army Staff, Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim, has ordered his arrest. Ude made this claim through a post on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), titled ” ACTING CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF HAS ORDERED MY ARREST– Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim. ”

According to Ude, an insider provided him with this information. He wrote, ” The acting Chief of Army Staff, Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim, has ordered my ‘ immediate arrest’ following my revelation that the former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has passed on, according to an audio recording of his meeting last night with senior military officers. ”

The journalist further alleged that General Ibrahim is seeking to uncover the source of his information and has instructed the military to ensure his arrest. Ude’ s post continued, ” While I welcome General Ibrahim’ s swift move to have me arrested, I urge him to use the same energy in addressing Nigeria’ s insecurity. He should also stop looking for contracts and focus on his military duties. ”
