In this industrial action, the union joins forces with the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG) and the Federation of Senior Staff Association of Ghana.
TEWU-GH highlighted specific grievances, including the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) failure to implement approved Vehicle Maintenance and Off-Campus allowances despite an approval letter issued by the Ministry of Finance on August 2, 2024.
Additionally, the union pointed out the government’s unfulfilled promise to recalculate and pay Tier Two interest accrued from delayed payments of Tier Two deductions from January 2010 to 2016. It further noted that the government currently owes Tier Two deductions from January 2024, amounting to eight months of outstanding payments, despite deductions from members’ salaries.
