The driver of the SUV and two occupants were burnt to death following the collision at Mandilas Bus Stop, Iyana Isolo, off Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.
Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, Dr. Femí Oke-Osanyitolu, confirmed the tragedy.
He said: “Upon arrival at the scene at 11:38pm, an accident involving a Mercedes Benz SUV with an unknown registration number and a truck conveying a 40 feet container was encountered.
“Preliminary investigation carried out upon arrival at the scene revealed that the SUV collided with the truck due to overspeeding. “
The impact of this collision resulted in a fire outbreak from the car engine.”The bodies of the victims trapped inside the car were evacuated by officials of the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, SEHMU for transfer to the morgue.
The flat body of the truck and the carcass of the burnt vehicle were towed to the LASTMA Yard

Even me as a dispatch rider, I dey always dey careful for that road no matter the time of the day and God dey help me wella, I never get reason to ply that road for night except once and na God ride the bike for me that night. Too many useless things wey truck drivers dey do for that road during the day talkless of when darkness don set, na another story entirely. May their soul rest in peace.

I experienced one upper week Saturday along Ibadan -Iseyin Road, 2 full buses , only 11 passengers were alive out of which 4 were pronounced dead on getting to hospital
My hands were shaking on the wheels till I get to my destination
