This assist marks Tella’s first for the reigning Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal champions this season. Victor Boniface also featured, coming on in the 79th minute to replace Patrik Schick.

Tella made an impact early, assisting Schick for the opening goal. Just seven minutes later, Schick doubled the lead, and Aleix Garcia added a third in the 36th minute.

Tella was substituted in the 69th minute, with Alex Grimaldi coming on in his place.

Both Tella and Boniface were instrumental in helping Leverkusen secure the DFB-Pokal title last season, marking the club’s second cup victory, with their first dating back to the 1992/1993 season.
