Rashford missed two glorious chances to put the Red Devils ahead one in each half.

Alejandro Garnacho came on from the bench to make it 1-0 for United in the 82nd minute before Bernardo Silva restored parity seven minutes later.

The game went into penalties, where Jonny Evans missed the decisive penalty as Pep Guardiola’s side will begin the season with the Shield in their cabinet.
