Manchester United have announced that their first team coach, Steve McClaren, will leave Old Trafford to become head coach of Jamaica men’s national team.

The Premier League club disclosed this in a statement on their website late last night.

McClaren has spent the past two years as assistant to men’s first-team manager Erik ten Hag.

He played a key role behind the Red Devils’ 2024 Emirates FA Cup and 2023 Carabao Cup-winning teams.

Commenting on McClaren’s departure, Ten Hag said as quoted by Man United’s website:

“I want to thank Steve for his tremendous service over the past two years.

“He has been an invaluable source of support and advice to me since I arrived in English football, helping us achieve two trophies while laying down foundations for further success.”
