Former Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh, has named Spain midfielder, Rodri, as the Most Valuable Player, MVP, at the ongoing 2024 Euro.

Oliseh said this after the Manchester City star put up another impressive display as Spain defeated host country Germany 2-1 in the quarterfinal on Friday.

Recall that Dani Olmo gave Spain the the lead in the 51st minute before Florian Wirtz drew level for Germany some minutes later as the match ended in a 1-1 draw after normal time.

However, Mikel Merino scored a late winning goal a minute before the end of extra time to send Spain to the semifinals.

Rodri featured for the entire duration of the match.

The midfielder ended the game with 92 touches of the ball, completed 94 per cent of his passes, and won nine of 16 ground duels he contested.

Reacting to Rodri’s display, Oliseh, in a tweet on X after the game, said: “For me, the MVP of the Euros, so far, Rodri!! I have never seen a Spanish central defensive midfielder interprete this role in this way.
