The Governor said, the continuation of the initiative is a testament to his administration’s determination to build a state where every citizen has a sense of belonging.
The Governor added that the Delta CARES Programme has touched lives, and provided critical support to households and small businesses.
He maintained that the current phase represents more than just another stage in the DELTA CARES Programme adding that his desire is to meet the component of inclusiveness of “Opportunities for All” in the MORE Agenda.
He revealed that his administration is prepared to create avenues for every Deltans, regardless of their background, political affiliation, and be able to access opportunities that will expand their enterprises, create wealth, improve living conditions, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of our state.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Chairman, Delta State CARES Steering Committee (SCSC), Mr. Sonny Ekedayen, said DELTA-CARES was a World Bank project in partnership with the Nigeria: Community Action (for) Resilience and Economic Stimulus Programme NG-CARES.
Ekedayen commended the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the massive increase in the number of beneficiaries across six delivery platforms.
According to him ” we must extend our sincere appreciation to His Excellency. Rt. Hon. Elder, Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, for his unwavering support for the implementation of the programme. His Excellency’s dedication to the welfare of our people is evident in every aspect of this initiative, and it encapsulates the spirit of ‘ opportunity for all Deltans” in the MORE Agenda.
