arguments against them, instead of encouraging peaceful and organized demonstrations to hold the government accountable for its actions.
Sheikh Gumi said this while

reacting to the claim that some clerics have been discouraging moves to protest against the current hardship and President Bola Tinubu-led government policies.

He said, “God has sent some group of children to cause chaos to some of the government policies, not to destroyinto their right senses. Instead of clerics to say let the children who are ready for protest go about it in an orderly and peaceful manner, they are busy bringing religion into it that protest is prohibited.”
