Speaking at a press conference held at the Government House in Maiduguri on Thursday, July 18, the Governor’s son described the rumor as “utterly false and malicious”.

“I am shocked and disappointed that such a fabricated story could be spread about me,” he said. “I assure the good people of Borno State and the general public that I have never been involved in any such incident, and I have never been detained in India or any other country.”
