On Sunday, October 27, Ms. Alice Udey, who reportedly uses multiple aliases, was taken into custody at the Ikoyi Police Station in Lagos in connection with the theft that occurred over a year ago, according to police officials.

Prior to her arrest, authorities conducted an extensive 16-month manhunt, uncovering what they suspect to be an organized crime ring targeting affluent Nigerian households.

According to the police, Udey secured her position as a domestic worker after being recruited from an agency. However, she allegedly vanished the following day, taking with her valuable jewelry belonging to her employer.

The suspect is expected to face theft charges as investigations continue.
