Reports indicate that the 20-year-old woman, who had been missing for several days, was found pregnant and in Haruna’s custody in Anguwan Arewa, located in the Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State.
During a phone interview with PUNCH Metro on Thursday, Dungus Abdulkarim, the spokesperson for the state police command, disclosed that Haruna was accused of using a concoction to hypnotize the victim,r endering her unconscious.
Abdulkarim explained that the case has been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation. He provided details, stating, “The suspect practices as a marabout, performing rituals for people.
He allegedly forced her to consume a medical concoction that induced her to fall in love with him, after which he absconded with her to Anguwan in Kano.”
The girl’ s father reported her abduction to the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Headquarters, accusing Haruna of the crime.
Following an extensive search, police operatives apprehended Haruna in Kano along with the girl, who was found to be two months pregnant, as confirmed by medical examination
