Mr. Segun did not act alone. He was arrested alongside two accomplices, Mr. Mike and Stephen, who were members of his church.

These men admitted that the pastor had promised to pay them 700, 000 Naira to bring him a girl for rituals. They lured Mercy from a popular hotel called Hollywood in Adavi.

The details of the crime were gruesome. The pastor and his accomplices killed Mercy and severed her head, breasts, legs, and one hand. These body parts were buried at the church altar, while the rest of her body was buried in a nearby bush.

When the police investigated, the accomplices confessed and led them to Uhodo in the Ogaminana area of Adavi, where Mercy’ s remains were found in a shallow grave. The police also managed to track down and arrest Pastor Segun, who had attempted to flee after his accomplices were caught.

The remains of Mercy Moses were taken to the Okene General Hospital mortuary for an autopsy. This tragic event left the community in shock and horror, as a trusted religious leader was found to be involved in such a heinous crime.
