It could be recalled that while Nigerians are protesting against the federal government led by President Bola Tinubu, some yet- to- be- identified Yoruba youths are reportedly planning to stage 10- days #IgboMustGo protest starting from the 20th of August.
They urged the Yorubas living in the South- East to return home as they plan to send all Igbos back to their region.
The threat has been generating reactions from Nigerians, including prominent politicians. In their reaction, the Igbo youths under the auspice of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide warned that any attack on Ndigbo in any part of the country would come with dire consequences.
According to a statement released by the group National President, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, Igbos will retaliate with unimaginable revenge if the sons and daughters of the South- East were attacked in the South- West.
” We want to equivocally declare today that Ndigbo are not cowards; our forefathers were not cowards; they were brave and so are we, ” he said.
Added that, ” We warn those fanning this embers of discord not to take the calmness of the lion for weakness; we are not afraid and shouldn’ t be pushed to the wall by faceless miscreants. “
