Dr. Adepoju Anuoluwapo, the Nigerian surgeon and controversial founder of MedContour Services Ltd, has reportedly passed away after a prolonged and harrowing battle with a mysterious illness.

Known for her botched Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures that left numerous women scarred and disfigured, her death has ignited a storm of reactions across social media.

The news of her demise was first broken by the popular Instagram blogs Gossipmill and Cutie Juls, quickly becoming the hottest topic online.

Videos surfaced showing Dr. Anu in a hospital bed, looking frail and exhausted as she fought the enigmatic illness that ultimately claimed her life.

A federal high court in Lagos, In May 2004, sentenced Adepoju Anuoluwapo, a Lagos-based medical doctor, to one-year imprisonment.

In 2020, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) arraigned Anuoluwapo for obstructing the agency’s investigation.

The commission commenced an investigation into the activities of the cosmetic surgeon after the death of Nneka Onwuzuligbo, one of her clients, over failed plastic surgery.

Anuoluwapo, along with her medical facility, were arraigned on a five-count charge before Mohammed Liman, the trial judge.

The judge suspended the imprisonment on the condition that the medical doctor pay a N100,000 fine for each count.
