A former presidential candidate, Peter Obi says he won’t be dragged into a dogfight with anyone over their political differences. Obi, the leader of the Labour Party, was responding to questions about the conduct of Kenneth Okonkwo, the former spokesperson for the LP presidential campaign organization. Okonkwo decided to quit the Labour Party, emphasizing that the party failed to inspire the kind of leadership needed to solve Nigeria’s challenges. In a recent interview on Noire TV, he said, “I think I have said this before, I can’t act rascally. I have never known to be somebody who operates rascally because I operate within the rules and the guidelines. And that is what we want to enthrone. It is easy for anyone to say anything. Like I said, all those who left are my brothers and associates who I have worked with and I am pleased with.”

“But I will never be part of what I am trying to change, If I wanted that, I wouldn’t have finished being governor when in the history of the country, nobody left money. I would have taken money like everybody did.”

Obi further urged his supporters and all Nigerians to refrain from making negative remarks against Okonkwo or anyone who exits the party or disagrees with his views and strategies.
