While demanding for a new a new Oba, the Makanjuola family urge Prince Solagbade Amodeni to restrain from delaying the obaship process.

The family, including chiefs Present at the Palace also urge Prince Sola Amodeni to retrieve his negative claim and rumors on the family candidate for next Ipesi monarch, prince Adesoji Benson Makanjuola.

RE: APPROVAL FOR THE COMMENCEMENT OF SELECTION OF NEW QLUPESI OF IPESI-AKOKO

With references to your letter ASELG/68/Vol. 11/301 and my response dated 1″ August 2023, I conveyed all stakeholders meeting for 13th August, 2023 where we had in attendance all members of Okedofin Ruling House both male and female, the prominent sons and daughters in the town, the quarter Chiefs and the Olus, the market women and the Youth-Wing of the community. We equally invited all the aspirants Interested in the stool of the Olupesi. Eerfier, I have earller asked them to submit their Curriculum Vitae to the Secretary.

Among the prominent sons of the community that came to address the meeting on the qualities of the King the community expect are Dr. F.O. Balogun a lecturer at Adeyemi University of Education, Barr Samuel Pelemo former member, Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Tunde Atere forme Honourable Commissioner, Ondo State to mention a few. C Circle, the only social club in the community was represented.

The minutes of the last meeting of Okedofin Ruling House was read and adopted, after which the stakeholders addressed the Community and the Okedofin Rulirig House one after the other with emphasis on the following:-

1. Health status

2. Communication skill

3. Exposure (related to human management)

4. Familiarity with the town (culturally)

5. Feasible means of livelihood

6. Educational qualification

7. Integrity

8. Intelligence and mental capacity

9. Contribution to the development of the town

10. Right to the throne

We prepared the mindset of the seven aspirants that each of them will be allotted five minutes each to address the stakeholders in English language as the town does not want an Oba that will not be able to represent them well at horne and outside, All the letters going to government will be in the official language and the ones from the government same. The names of the aspirants are as follows:

(3) Talwo Gbadebo Amodeni

(4) Dare Awe

(5) Victor Akinyemi Amodeni

(6) Adedayo Sunday Makanjuola

(7) Adedayo Arunpolu

I addressed the meeting and promised that only the best will be chosen, my siblings that are equally contesting notwithstanding, and that we are going to present the best candidate.

The contestants addressed the stakeholders and all of them shaking each other after their address.

I told all the aspirants that they should submit photocoples of their certificates to the Secretary of the Ruling House on or before Thursday, 17th August, 2023 for verification.

The youths of the town spoke with one voice that there will not be any protest aftভা the nomination going by the transparency they have seen, which is not common In recent time.

Motion was moved and the meeting carne to an end with grace in unison without any rancour.

Our Lawyer has informed us of the intension of the Agunbiades to stall the process, we shall continue as no reasonable competent Court of Justice ought to grant an Injunction on a process like this because the stool of an Oba is not a PERISHABLE ITEM.

Within the next two weeks, the meeting of the male child of Okedofin Ruling House will hold after which we will invite the Local Government for the official nomination,

RE: APPROVAL FOR THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE

SELECTION OF NEW OLUPESI OF IPESI AKOKO

I wish to refer to the above subject and to inform you that following the Local Government’s letter Ref: ASELG/58/VOL.11/277 of 22nd May, 2023 on the same matter, the State Government has approved the commencement of the process of selecting a new Olupesi of Ipesi Akoko in the line with the Olupesi Chieftaincy Declaration and due process.

02. Sequel to the above, you are to suvunon a meeting of the Kuting House where you will be the Chairman and call for nominations to select candidate or candidates to be presented to the Kingmaker in line with Section [10] Sub section (2) of the Chiefs Law [2006] as amended.

03. Section 10[3] of the Chiefs Law stiralates that “The Head of the Ruling House shall communicate the name or names of the nominated candidate or candidates to the Kingmakers within three [03] days of the meeting at which the candidate or candidates is or are nominated. A copy of the letter to the Kingmakers shall be sent to the Secretary of the Committee

04. You are expected to summon the Ruling House’s meeting for the nomination of candidates to be presented to the Kingmaker within fourteen days [14] upon the receipt of this letter and the officials of the Local Government must be in attendance as observants
