Reacting to the charges, Rufai Oseni on the Morning Show, said: “You see, for a Democrat who fought against military tyranny, I’m sad all of this is happening under President Tinubu. So, these protesters, you’re calling them, you’re charging them for treason? And you’re wondering, what’s going on in this country, I condemn demolishing government properties, or destruction of government properties, which is wrong. But because they chanted words? When they were protesting against Jonathan, didn’t they say Jonathan must go?” he said.

He continued: “Did we term that as treason? Because even the white man, the British man they are talking about, he said he knows nothing about this and he’ll be happy to go talk to Nigerian authorities in the UK, that somebody he had just mentioned, all his own was to book shop in where the NLC complex used to be.”

“So, this high-handedness of quickly tagging people and saying this is treason and all of that, in a country where bandits are having fun on TikTok, showing you how much they’ve earned on TikTok. Those are the real people you should go after, not people that are protesting because of hunger.”

“I don’t even know what the constitution says but when they were protesting against Jonathan, they said Jonathan must go. They carried his coffin. They did worse. Nobody spoke against them.”
