Igboho highlighted that during former President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight-year tenure, despite widespread oppression and atrocities committed by Fulani terrorists against the Southwest, there were no protests demanding a regime change. He contrasted this with the current situation, underscoring the resilience shown during Buhari’s presidency and the respect for constitutional processes and the rule of law.

Igboho reminded the nation of the importance of adhering to constitutional provisions and maintaining national stability, even in times of hardship. He urged for peaceful and lawful expressions of dissent, emphasizing the need to uphold democratic principles and processes for better governance and economic conditions in Nigeria.

According to DailyPost, In his statement, Igboho pointed out that since President Bola Tinubu assumed office on May 29, he has implemented policies his predecessors lacked the political will to pursue. He noted that challenges exist in every country and that President Tinubu is making efforts to curb the hardships affecting Nigeria.
Igboho also mentioned attempts to undermine Tinubu’s administration, especially on social media, aiming to create discord between the government and the people. He referred to notices from unknown individuals threatening ’10 days of rage’ starting August 1, 2024, under the slogan ‘Tinubu Must Go!’

Igboho reiterated that the right to peaceful protest does not include calls for an unconstitutional regime change, citing the lack of such protests during Buhari’s tenure despite the oppression and atrocities faced by the people from Fulani terrorists.

He said challenges abound in every country and President Tinubu was doing everything to curb the hardship bedeviling the country.

Igboho added that while the right to peaceful protest was enshrined in the nation’s constitution, it did not extend to calls for an unconstitutional regime change, noting that during President Buhari’s eight-year tenure, there were no such protests for regime change from the Southwest,

even when the people faced oppression and atrocities by Fulani terrorists.
