The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) state chairmen from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have publicly vowed to protect President Tinubu’ s administration from what they describe as destabilization attempts. On Monday, Alphonsus Ogar Eba, the chairman of the Cross River State chapter and Secretary of the APC States Chairmen Forum, addressed the media alongside his colleagues. They announced their intention to mobilize party structures at every level to defend the government and promote its achievements.
Eba stated that the planned 10- day #EndBadGovernance protest is an effort to undermine the administration, warning that violent demonstrations would be counterproductive. ” We will not sit idly by and let undemocratic forces undermine the government we worked tirelessly to elect, ” Eba declared. He emphasized that failing to act would betray the trust of the Nigerian people who supported President Tinubu.

Eba highlighted that these rallies would be peaceful and aimed at protecting and defending democracy from those he labeled as ” hoodlums or some criminal elements” seeking to incite violence. The campaign will culminate on August 11, aiming to bolster support for President Tinubu and his administration.
The controversy surrounding the alleged payment of counter- protesters has added a new dimension to the ongoing political tensions in Nigeria. Critics argue that such tactics undermine democratic principles and stifle genuine dissent. Supporters of the government, however, maintain that the administration is right to defend itself against efforts to destabilize the country.
As the planned #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest approaches, the nation’ s political climate remains charged. The coming days will likely see increased activity from both sides, with the government’ s supporters rallying to showcase achievements while protesters prepare to voice their dissatisfaction with the state of governance in Nigeria.
