Madam Blacky Ogiamen, President of the Edo State Market Women Association (ESMWA), has firmly denied claims made by former governor Adams Oshiomhole that she received ₦200 million from his administration in 2013. Speaking at Ekiosa Market in Benin on Thursday, she asserted that the actual amount donated to the association was ₦100 million, specifically allocated for the group’s end-of-year ceremony, not for her personal benefit.

Madam Blacky accused Oshiomhole of spreading falsehoods during a recent APC governorship campaign rally, where he alleged that she received the ₦200 million to support market women. She clarified that the funds were deposited into the association’s bank account and were distributed to members by leaders of the organization, including the late Madam Atiti Awerioba and other local leaders.
