According to Zimbabwe’s National Prosecuting Authority, the chilling incident occurred about 11:00 p. m. on June 7, 2024. The accused sneaked into the complainant’s bedroom, where she lay asleep, ignorant of the danger. The woman was naked, with her two-year-old infant curled next her, blissfully unaware of the horrors that were about to unfold.

Without hesitation, the offender removed his trousers and violently raped the defenseless woman. Awakened by the assault, the victim bravely lighted the darkness with a torch, identifying her attacker-the very person who was committing this heinous violation on her. In a frantic attempt to conceal his conduct, the accused appealed for forgiveness and asked her to keep quiet about the incident before fleeing the scene.

Overwhelmed by the tragedy and seeking refuge in her husband’s arms, the deeply traumatized woman revealed the horrific encounter when he returned home about midnight. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the couple immediately reported the event to the police, launching an investigation that resulted in the arrest of the alleged culprit.

As the court proceedings unfolded, the accused person was remanded in custody, awaiting further legal proceedings to determine his fate and ensure justice is served for the victim and her family.

The man is currently in the police custody were he is responding to interrogations and for sure will be made to face the full wrath of the law for the crime he committed. Men should try to control themselves so as not to fall into temptation.
