The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended four suspects in Abuja for alleged unauthorized access to banking systems and fraudulent withdrawals from depositors’ accounts.....Read Full Article>>

Among the arrested individuals is Chima Nwigwe, identified as the leader of the syndicate, along with Effiong Emmanuel, Mohammed Mahmud (Managing Director of Downstone Ultimate Limited), and Damian Ali.

According to EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the arrests followed a sting operation based on credible intelligence regarding the syndicate’s involvement in hacking into bank databases. The suspects allegedly facilitated fraudulent transfers and withdrawals through various digital platforms.

Oyewale confirmed that the suspects will face legal proceedings upon the completion of the investigation.
