she got from the Akara business to raise Bassey and send him to school. Mrs. Margret Daniel appealed to the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, the NYSC officials, and security agencies to help her secure the release of her son from the kidnapping den.

As reported, Mrs. Margret Daniel lamented, “I am just a petty trader; I sell akara and bread. How am I going to raise that kind of money? I am helpless, and in fact, when that amount of money was mentioned, I fell sick. And I have been asking God, Why my only son? There were nine people that were kidnapped that day in Zamfara; the other eight have regained their freedom, remaining my son. They are demandingkind of money. His father died a long time ago when he (Bassey) was just 3 years old.”
