In a press statement, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the National President of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, expressed deep dismay over the incident, calling it barbaric and contrary to Igbo values. He emphasized that the Igbo people hold human life in high regard and mourned the loss of the soldiers, extending condolences to their families and the Nigerian Army.
Nnabuike highlighted that such acts of violence are not representative of the true Biafra agitators but are instead the work of infiltrators exploiting the movement for personal gain. He asserted, “The events that unfolded in Aba on Thursday, along with similar occurrences in the past, serve as glaring indications that infiltrators have infiltrated the Biafra struggle.”
He further noted that these criminal elements aim to keep Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader, in perpetual detention to continue their destructive activities under the guise of Biafra agitation. Nnabuike called for the swift apprehension of the perpetrators and urged security agencies to enforce the law.
