Former Manchester City defender, Micah Richards, has said that incoming Manchester signing, Matthijs de Ligt is not as slow as Harry Maguire.
Man United are finally set to sign De Ligt from Bayern Munich and also Noussair Mazraoui.
The signing of De Ligt has been much debated given his struggles since leaving Ajax in 2019.
Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Richards said: “It looks like they have got De Ligt and Mazraoui through the door.
“When we talk about Man United and the way they play, the structure of the team, sometimes they sit really deep because they have not got the pace.
“If you get De Ligt in the team… I wouldn’t say he is rapid but he is not as slow as someone like Maguire on the turn and that is no disrespect to Maguire.
“So I think they can afford to be a bit more adventurous.”
