Boko Haram, a group notorious for its brutal acts, continues to spread fear and instability, with this latest incident highlighting their relentless campaign. In the footage, a Boko Haram leader, speaking in Hausa, declared that the killings were in response to alleged harassment by Nigerian security forces. He claimed that the

militants had taken these drastic actions because their own people, including elders and children, had been mistreated by the authorities. The leader’ s statement included a disturbing revelation that several individuals had been captured, among them Red Cross personnel and elderly women, including his own sister.

While the Boko Haram leader indicated that the elderly women would be spared due to their age, his tone hardened as he vowed to continue executing the remaining captives. Referring to them as ” infidels” and enemies of their cause, the militants made it clear that the humanitarian workers were not exempt from their violent reprisals.

The execution itself, carried out using an axe, was accompanied by chants of ” Allahu Akbar, ” further adding to the chilling nature of the scene.

Following the release of this video, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, who represents the Gwoza area, expressed his profound concern. He emphasized that this incident validates his repeated warnings to the federal government and the international community.

Ndume lamented the fact that the residents of Gwoza, particularly those who had recently returned to farming in the area, were once again facing a renewed wave of attacks by Boko Haram insurgents.

His call for increased security measures reflects the urgent need for a more robust response to the ongoing crisis in Borno State.
This latest atrocity serves as a grim reminder of the challenges faced by both civilians and humanitarian workers in the region, as the conflict with Boko Haram shows little sign of abating.
