The enforcement team of Zamfara State Internal Revenue Service (ZSIRS), has commenced its operation on operators of keke-napep, okada, and other commercial vehicles that have refused to comply with its registration order.

This was disclosed by the Director of Information and Intelligence Gathering of the service, Alhaji Hadi Bawa Gusau, during a phone-in program on Zamfara Radio.

Alhaji Hadi Bawa, who represented the Executive Chairperson of the service, Hajiya Rakiya Ahmed Dodo, at the program, said the service decided to take action considering the expiration of the ultimatum period given.

The director also described the significance of the registration in reducing security challenges in the society as something that could not be overemphasized.

Also commenting, Head of the Enforcement Unit, Muhammed Surajo Isah Gusau, spoke extensively on the activities of the team and the powers given to it by the law, among other topics.

He added, “The enforcement is not meant to victimize anybody, but only to put the taxpayers on the right path and ensure full compliance.”

On his part, the Deputy Director of the Tax Audit and Investigation Department, Danburan Anka, called on all taxpayers to comply with the laid down rules and regulations of the Revenue Service for the overall development of the state.
