Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a swipe at Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo following remarks the governor made about Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Davido, who has remained vocal in support of his uncle ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election, shared what appeared to be Okpebholo’s WAEC result on his Instagram Stories on Friday.
Although the singer posted the document without a caption, the move was widely interpreted as a response to Okpebholo’s recent comments mocking Ademola Adeleke’s penchant for dancing.
The Edo governor made the remarks while campaigning for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, at an APC rally attended by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Questioning Adeleke’s leadership style, Okpebholo said:
“Before somebody signs paper, he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast, before he drinks tea, he will dance.”
Okpebholo also urged voters to collect money from political opponents but ultimately vote for the APC candidate in the forthcoming election.
Davido has been actively involved in Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign, attending rallies and publicly calling for a peaceful, free and fair election in Osun State.
