Shaibu gave the update during an interactive session with media executives in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, saying troops are continuing rescue operations.
Rescue operation ongoing
According to the Army Chief, security forces remain committed to securing the safe release of the abducted pupils and teachers.
“Operations are currently ongoing to rescue those children abducted in Oyo State, and we are making tremendous progress,” he said.

Recap of the abduction
The victims were abducted on May 15 when gunmen attacked three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
According to earlier reports, 39 pupils and seven teachers, including the principal of one of the affected schools, were taken away during the attack.
Days after the abduction, one of the kidnapped teachers, Michael Oyedokun, was reportedly killed while in captivity.
As of the latest update from the Army Chief, the remaining victims have not yet been rescued, although the military says operations are making progress….See More
