A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has disclosed plans to file a lawsuit against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over allegations linking his Abuja residence to funds from Rivers State.
Wike, during a recent media chat in Abuja, challenged the elder statesman to explain the source of funds used to acquire the house he occupies in the Maitama area of the FCT, alleging that the property was purchased with money from Rivers State.
Reacting during an appearance on TVC News on Wednesday night, Bode George dismissed the allegation, insisting that Wike’s claims were false and defamatory.
“How was my house in Abuja bought with Rivers fund? I’m going to take him to court. I’m sure he was high on something,” George said.
The PDP chieftain explained that he did not build the property but bought it legally, questioning why he would have any connection to Rivers State funds.
“He is talking absolute rubbish. I didn’t even build a house, I bought the house and it is still there. Am I from Rivers State that I will go there and collect funds? I’m not like him,” he added.
George also launched a personal attack on the former Rivers State governor, alleging that Wike had been disowned by his father.
“He is just the same age as my first child. Go and find out what his father did to him and what he did to his father. In Africa, do you know what it means when your biological father disowns you?” he said.
The exchange marks the latest escalation in the ongoing war of words between the two prominent PDP figures, who have repeatedly traded accusations over internal party affairs and political differences.
