A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who was reported missing while serving in Bayelsa State has reportedly been found dead, ending days of uncertainty and search efforts.
The deceased, Okebaram Stanley Chimaroke, a Civil Engineering graduate and former Student Union Government (SUG) president of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, was serving in Nembe Local Government Area before his disappearance.
Corps Member Reported Missing
According to reports, Chimaroke was last seen on the evening of July 24 while serving in Nembe Creek.
Police sources said repeated attempts to contact him through his phone lines were unsuccessful, prompting colleagues to raise the alarm.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that a missing person complaint was lodged with the Bayelsa State Police Command at about 8:40 p.m. on July 25, 2026, by fellow corps member Aribisola Bis Isaac, accompanied by Adeola Marvelous.
The report led security operatives to begin search and investigation efforts.
Body Reportedly Recovered
Multiple reports now claim that Chimaroke’s lifeless body was recovered from a body of water in Nembe.
The reports allege that he may have been attacked by unidentified assailants before his body was discovered.
However, the Bayelsa State Police Command has not officially confirmed the reported recovery of the body or disclosed the exact circumstances or cause of death.
