A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has criticised protesters who chanted “Tinubu must go” during a demonstration in Abuja.
The protest took place at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), where opposition figures and supporters gathered over the commission’s stance on the leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
During the protest, some participants were heard calling for the removal of President Bola Tinubu, prompting a reaction from Igbokwe.
In a post shared on his Facebook page, he questioned the basis for such demands, noting that the president is still within his current term in office.
“I saw some street urchins and touts shouting ‘Tinubu must go.’ Has Tinubu finished his four-year term in office?” he wrote.
Igbokwe also criticised some of the protesters, describing them as misguided and insisting they should be “tamed and trained.”
“These ADC clueless kids should be tamed and trained. The boys do not know that the train has left the station,” he added.
His comments have further fueled reactions surrounding the protest and the broader political tensions linked to the ADC leadership crisis.
