Kaduna Gov Uba Sani Dismisses APC Governors Forum Rift, Says Crisis Resolved
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has downplayed recent tensions within the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum, describing the development as a minor disagreement that has already been resolved.
Speaking on Monday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the governor said there was no major crisis within the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), despite reports of internal divisions and leadership disputes involving Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.
The controversy followed reports that the forum had split into rival factions after Uzodimma, who serves as chairman of the PGF, was allegedly removed from the position last Thursday.
While Uzodimma maintained that he remained the substantive chairman of the forum, reports suggested that Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq were linked to a separate faction within the group.
Reacting to the situation, Sani, who is the vice chairman of the PGF, insisted that the disagreement was not severe and had since been settled internally.
“You never hear anything again. It’s just a slight disagreement, not a serious issue, but it has been resolved,” the Kaduna governor said during the interview.
He also dismissed speculation about any formal leadership change within the forum, noting that he would have assumed leadership responsibilities if such a decision had officially taken place.
“I don’t think you’ve heard anything since that day, and, of course, if there were any change of leadership, as vice chairman, I would have taken over,” he added.
The Progressive Governors Forum serves as a coalition of governors elected on the platform of the ruling APC and plays a significant role in coordinating policy direction and political strategy within the party.
The latest remarks from Sani are expected to calm speculation over divisions among APC governors ahead of key political engagements within the party.
