The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has confirmed that a joint military operation involving Nigerian Armed Forces and United States forces has resulted in the elimination of Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, a senior leader of ISIS.

The operation, described as highly coordinated and intelligence-driven, is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating in Nigeria and across the wider West African region.
