Afrobeats star Burna Boy has reunited with Colombian singer Shakira ahead of their performance at the inaugural FIFA World Cup final halftime show, scheduled to take place on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.
The Grammy-winning Nigerian artist shared moments from the reunion on his X account on Friday, posting a video and photos showing both performers exchanging hugs and chatting during rehearsals for the highly anticipated event.
Accompanying the post, Burna Boy wrote: “Sunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikó, dale, allez, let’s go!” as excitement builds ahead of the tournament’s showpiece event.

The halftime show will also feature appearances by a number of international entertainers, including BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, acclaimed conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus with Coldplay, as well as characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.
Beyond the musical performances, FIFA says the event will also spotlight global education initiatives aimed at supporting children worldwide.
Sunday’s final will see reigning Copa América champions Argentina face European champions Spain in what is expected to be one of the tournament’s biggest matches.
