Content Creator Shot Dead

A Mexican content creator known for sharing comedy videos on social media has been shot dead while livestreaming outside a fast-food restaurant in Culiacán, authorities have confirmed.

The victim, César Gastélum, was broadcasting live with two companions on Tuesday when two men arrived at the scene on a motorcycle.

According to reports, one of the attackers opened fire at close range before fleeing with the rider.

Police initially believed the victim was a delivery worker because he and his companions were wearing bright yellow jackets and carrying delivery packages. However, investigators later confirmed his identity as César Gastélum.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have launched an investigation into the killing.

Investigators are analysing spent shell casings recovered from the scene and reviewing surveillance footage in an effort to identify the attackers.

Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive for the attack, and it remains unclear whether Gastélum had previously received threats.

His killing is the latest in a series of deadly attacks targeting social media personalities in Mexico.

In May 2025, 23-year-old beauty influencer Valeria Márquez was fatally shot while livestreaming from a beauty salon in Zapopan.

Similarly, online personality Leobardo “El Gordo Peruci” Aispuro was killed in Culiacán in December 2024.

Authorities say investigations into Gastélum’s killing are ongoing…..See more
