Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has celebrated the re-election of his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, as the governor of Osun State.
The singer expressed his excitement in a brief post on X following the announcement of the election result by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Reacting to Adeleke’s victory, Davido simply wrote, “We did it.”
INEC had declared Adeleke, who contested the August 15 governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, the winner of the poll.
The governor secured 511,067 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes.
The result secured Adeleke another term in office after a closely contested election across the state.
